Hello!
My apologies for not posting in so long. This year's Farmer's Market was our best ever! And we've been winding down ever since. We've had the time to do some real deep cleaning (jars video coming soon!) and yes, make videos. I found that from start-to-finish, a 3-4 minute video takes 6 hours to put together. The thing is, I really love doing it, I just need to squeeze more hours in the day to produce more videos. Here is my latest!
The Good News is, I have a TON of videos on my phone to edit, so there is no shortage of topics, just time. I especially love fast-forwarding during chopping, so you'll see more of that. In fact, today, I'm taking on a Butternut Squash for our Butternut Squash Soup recipe. If you've seen the Pumpkin Preserves video, the Butternut Squash video will be similar, except the end result will be soup instead of preserves.
My goal in all of this is to post weekly. Every 7 days. And if I can stick to that schedule, I will be very happy. There is SO much happening in the World of Canning that I want to share with you! I have learned so much from Tiger Gardens and talking with all of you at the Farmer's Market. But there is also a wealth of information on social media, and after a few years of interacting with some Facebook groups, I have formed some strong opinions when it comes to canning, and I want to share it. This Blog is an ideal place for me to write out my thoughts, include a video and usually some pictures, and hopefully, after time, it will spark in you the desire to can throughout the year. There are so many typically store-bought products that you can replace with your homemade creations, and it will taste better and be better for you by not including all that processed crap that companies have to use for preservatives.
There is a lot of fear around canning, but my job is to alleviate that fear and make canning approachable. Because when you try it, and you make a few things, your inner pride will swell and you'll be eating better tasting products! I'm going to show you how easy it is to can. I believe that anyone can can! And everyone should! Here is my new website where I will put all of this into practice! It is a safe place to go to learn some awesome new techniques! Anyonecancan.com
I am starting with Strawberry Jam! The video on the website currently is also on YouTube here:
During the Holiday season, I finally have some time off of work, and will be making many many videos. Please share them with your friends if you like them. And remember to subscribe!
Thanks so much, and I'll "see" you on Tiger Gardens TV! ~Sue Tiger
